Today the Supreme Court heard arguments in Whole Women's Health v. Hellerstedt, a case that could walk back all the progress we've made in securing reproductive rights for women. Add your name if you're ready to elect Democrats in November who will fight for a woman's right to choose. Before the Supreme Court made its decision in Roe v. Wade in 1973, women's access to reproductive health services was extremely limited, when it wasn't completely non-existent. And the reality is, many women were forced into dangerous and even life-threatening situations because of that. So while Roe v. Wade not only recognizes a woman's right to make her own choices, and her right to access safe, legal health care procedures like an abortion -- it is still under attack. Despite all the progress we've made, opposition to the rights guaranteed under Roe v. Wade has persisted. Today, we are facing the biggest challenge to abortion rights in 20 years, as the Supreme Court heard arguments in Whole Women's Health v. Hellerstedt. This case could validate the more than 280 attempts made over the past five years to restrict our constitutional rights at the state level by imposing arbitrary regulations and requirements that, in some cases, have resulted in widespread closure of clinics. I'm asking you to continue the fight for women's reproductive rights all across this country -- because we haven't won yet: http://my.democrats.org/Let-Her-Choose It's a terrible, terrible thing that despite how far we've come since 1973, our rights to our own bodies are still being debated on House floors and in courtrooms across the country. But if we stand together against the kind of extremists who want to take us back more than four decades, I know we can make sure we're the last generation of women who have to fight in this battle.
