Here's what I saw last night

DemocratsJoin us.
Friend --

I caught a bit of the post-debate spin late last night, and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard GOP candidates and pundits going on about how what we heard on that stage was "policy-focused" and "substantive."

That most definitely isn't what I saw.

From where I was sitting, this debate featured a group of Republicans who were in over their heads on national security -- completely devoid of serious proposals for how to confront the threats and challenges we face today.

And here's what we didn't hear: Discussion of whether these candidates would support the historic global climate agreement that has a serious impact on our future safety and security, willingness to confront the issue of keeping guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them, or any mention of the kind of domestic terrorism that took place at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs.

Fortunately, we have a Democratic debate this Saturday night, and I know the difference between last night and what we'll hear from Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley will be night and day. All three of our Democratic candidates have shown they have a firm grasp on the challenges facing our nation, both at home and abroad, and that they respect the American people enough to give them real answers to the serious questions they have.

I hope you'll tune in -- and if you're fired up after what you saw last night, pitch in $10 or more to help keep these Republicans out of the White House and elect Democrats.
