Friend -- I'm running to be Virginia's next governor so I can create jobs and help grow our economy -- I want every Virginian to have a fair shot at success. But my opponent? Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli has said his ultimate goal is to "make abortion disappear in America" and that he runs for office because "if you want to end abortion, you have to fill potholes." Tell Ken Cuccinelli that women's health decisions should be between women and their doctors -- without government interference -- add your name to our petition and join my campaign. Ken Cuccinelli's extreme agenda isn't just talk: -- He supported "personhood" legislation that could have banned common forms of birth control like the pill -- He pushed medically unnecessary regulations on women's health clinics that have already led one facility to shut its doors -- And he almost derailed the state budget in an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood! That's a very small sample of his very long record of trying to roll back Virginia women's access to health care. And he's been rewarded for it. The anti-women's health Super PAC Susan B. Anthony List (they're the group that backed candidates like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock) has thrown millions of dollars behind Cuccinelli's campaign, something they're happy to do since their president said "we don't find people like [Cuccinelli] very often." I'm not afraid of Susan B. Anthony List or the other fringe groups backing Ken Cuccinelli because of his extreme views, because I know that most Virginians share my view that women should make their own healthcare decisions. If you agree too, join my campaign, and tell Ken Cuccinelli that the government has no business interfering with women's health decisions: http://my.democrats.org/Stand-With-VA-Women Thanks for taking a stand for Virginia's women, Terry McAuliffe | |
