Crucial
When I make decisions, I think about people like you, and the millions of Americans just like you. I need partners in the Senate and House who share that focus. And tonight's fundraising deadline is crucial. Chip in $3 or more before midnight tonight to support Democrats: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Barack P.S. -- I know I asked a lot of you in 2012, and I can't tell you how grateful I am that you came through. But the upcoming elections are just as important for making our shared vision a reality. Chip in today.

I need your help today
My presidency has always been about you, and let me tell you what I mean. We got here in the first place because, in 2008, you built the biggest grassroots organization in the history of American politics. But we were only getting started. Over the next few years, we worked together to pass health care reform, bring our brave troops home from Iraq, and repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. None of those things would have happened without your support. And a little more than 11 months ago, we celebrated another victory. I need your help today because all of the progress that has been made since 2008 has never been about what I can do for you, but what we can accomplish together. I need partners in the Senate and House who share that focus. And tonight's fundraising deadline is crucial. Chip in $3 or more right now before the midnight fundraising deadline to help Democrats finish what we started. Even though Republicans and their allies outraised and outspent Democrats last year, we came together to build an organization that could overcome all of the super PAC attack ads. Our campaign was disciplined and strategic, and we proved that a few wealthy donors couldn't drown out the voices of millions of ordinary Americans. This year, Democrats are being outspent again. And while we've shown we can overcome that, we can't be outspent 10-to-1 and expect to win elections in 2013, 2014, and the years to come. There's so much more we have to do and it won't happen without you: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Barack P.S. -- Your support will make a difference. Donate now.

Hey
Friend -- One senator is running the show in the Republican Party right now. He's not my senator. And he's not your senator. But for some reason I can't understand, the Republican Party is letting Ted Cruz lead their charge against Obamacare -- a law that they're still fighting tooth and nail, despite the fact that every branch of the federal government has approved it, and despite the fact that we're seeing real signs that it's starting to work. Now, Ted Cruz isn't a bad guy. But he needs to be reminded that he's not representing the will of the American people when he tries to obstruct and defund Obamacare. Before Monday's fundraising deadline, support the organization that's standing up for Obamacare, and chip in $3 to the Democrats. There was a time when leaders from both parties came together to do what made sense for the country. This isn't the Congress I remember being a part of. And it sure isn't a Congress that represents the American people. Fight back against the far right by chipping in today: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Joe

My colleague, Ted Cruz
Friend -- There were two candidates in last year's presidential election -- one ran on a platform of repealing health reform, and the other put his name on it. You probably remember which one won. But after listening to Ted Cruz's speech on the Senate floor earlier this week, I'm wondering if my Republican friends might have forgotten. Obamacare has been passed, signed into law, and upheld by the Supreme Court. But Republicans are still doing everything they can to fight the law, and we need to match them step for step. Join me, and sign up to join the team that's protecting Obamacare today. In 2012, every single senator who voted for the Affordable Care Act -- including me -- won reelection, most by double digits, and some in red states. So I think it's just silly when I hear my Republican friends, led by Senator Cruz, saying that they're doing everything they can to block and defund Obamacare because that's what the American people want. Take a moment to show them what the American people really want -- to give health care reform a chance to succeed. Join the team today: http://my.democrats.org/Team-Obamacare All the best, Claire Senator Claire McCaskill Missouri

Barack needs your help
You're never more important than you are at times like these, and here's why. When Barack is in a tough negotiation with Republicans in Congress, he needs to know that his supporters are with him -- that you're ready to do whatever it takes. So here's the thing: if you chip in to support Democrats before the critical fundraising deadline on Monday, you won't just be building an organization that can help elect Democrats who are going to support Barack. You're showing Barack that you're in his corner -- that you've got his back. And right now, with all that's happening, that really matters. Chip in $3 or more to support Barack and his Democratic allies: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Michelle P.S. -- So much is at stake right now. Please chip in before Monday at midnight.

Obamacare in New York
Friend -- Ted Cruz managed to talk about Obamacare on the Senate floor for 21 hours earlier this week without saying much that was actually true about Obamacare. It was an example of just how much misinformation there is out there about health reform -- and we need to fight back with the truth. We put together a beautiful new website that's full of facts about how Obamacare is working across the country -- including in New York. Take a look, and share it with your friends and family: Open enrollment in Obamacare's exchanges begin in less than a week, so it's never been more important to get the word out about the benefits of health reform. So set the record straight on the misinformation about Obamacare -- hold Ted Cruz and his Republican allies accountable: http://www.thisisobamacare.com Thanks, Laura Laura Santucci Acting Executive Director Democratic National Committee P.S. -- In less than a week, Democrats across the country are facing a critical fundraising deadline. Friend -- I bet you thought I was done emailing you. But just because we elected a President -- twice -- doesn't mean our work is done. That's why I need you to join me, and chip in $3 or more to support Democrats today. If you thought that losing the election last year would make Republicans start governing responsibly -- well, have you met any Republican members of Congress? Protect choice
Friend -- I'm running to be Virginia's next governor so I can create jobs and help grow our economy -- I want every Virginian to have a fair shot at success. But my opponent? Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli has said his ultimate goal is to "make abortion disappear in America" and that he runs for office because "if you want to end abortion, you have to fill potholes." Tell Ken Cuccinelli that women's health decisions should be between women and their doctors -- without government interference -- add your name to our petition and join my campaign. Ken Cuccinelli's extreme agenda isn't just talk: -- He supported "personhood" legislation that could have banned common forms of birth control like the pill -- He pushed medically unnecessary regulations on women's health clinics that have already led one facility to shut its doors -- And he almost derailed the state budget in an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood! That's a very small sample of his very long record of trying to roll back Virginia women's access to health care. And he's been rewarded for it. The anti-women's health Super PAC Susan B. Anthony List (they're the group that backed candidates like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock) has thrown millions of dollars behind Cuccinelli's campaign, something they're happy to do since their president said "we don't find people like [Cuccinelli] very often." I'm not afraid of Susan B. Anthony List or the other fringe groups backing Ken Cuccinelli because of his extreme views, because I know that most Virginians share my view that women should make their own healthcare decisions. If you agree too, join my campaign, and tell Ken Cuccinelli that the government has no business interfering with women's health decisions: http://my.democrats.org/Stand-With-VA-Women Thanks for taking a stand for Virginia's women, Terry McAuliffe

Absolutely ridiculous
Friend -- Republicans just raised the stakes on their desperate crusade against Obamacare. This week, they officially tied our economic recovery and the financial stability of the United States to defunding Obamacare. We already knew that Republicans would take any opportunity to rally against this law, which was passed by Congress, signed by the President, and upheld by the Supreme Court. But risking the economic stability of the United States is absolutely ridiculous. We've made too much progress to let them take us backwards. Tell Republicans to stop playing games with Americans' health care and economic well-being today. Look, everyone has a right to their opinion -- they don't like Obamacare, and they've made that clear. But Congress' basic responsibilities include funding the government and paying our bills on time. Republicans are failing on both counts. Add your name, and tell Republicans that you'll hold them accountable if the government shuts down: http://my.democrats.org/Tell-Them-To-Stop Thanks, Mo Mo Elleithee Communications Director Democratic National Committee P.S. -- We put together a video on how Republicans are threatening to shut down the government. SNAP
Friend -- House Republicans are voting today to cut food stamps by $40 billion, which would kick up to 6 million people off the program. I can throw a lot of stats and numbers at you about how terrible that would be, but I think an article from the New York Times a couple weeks ago sums it up best. Here's the part that really got me: As a self-described "true Southern man" -- and reluctant recipient of food stamps -- Dustin Rigsby, a struggling mechanic, hunts deer, doves and squirrels to help feed his family. He shops for grocery bargains, cooks budget-stretching stews and limits himself to one meal a day. Those proposed cuts are being voted on today. And we need to stop them. Add your name, and call on Republicans to stop playing games with food stamps: http://my.democrats.org/Protect-SNAP Thanks, Debbie Debbie Wasserman Schultz Chair Democratic National Committee |

Some news...
Friend -- I've just been asked to serve as the acting executive director of the Democratic Party by our Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I'm so excited to work with supporters like you, starting today. Positive changes are happening at Democratic Headquarters every day, and I want to make sure that you're involved. So I have a question for you: why are you a Democrat? I'm a Democrat because this party belongs to everyone -- we operate from the middle-out, not the top-down. That's why I want to know what you think about our party. Take a few minutes to share what issues you think the Democrats should focus on: http://my.democrats.org/Survey Your answers will guide strategy as Democrats across the country gear up for elections in 2013 and 2014. Nice to meet you, can't wait to get started
Friend-- I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Mo, and I'm the new communications director for the Democrats. I've spent a lot of time working for leaders with great ideas and great supporters, and I'm ready to have President Obama's (and your) back when Republicans attack policies that improve Americans' lives. But that's not just my job, that's yours too, because this is your party. We're going to be doing a lot of work in the coming weeks and months to fight back against Republican attacks, and I'd love to have your input on how we can best do that. Take a minute to answer a couple questions. Between blocking funding for Obamacare, baselessly discussing impeachment, and letting their true thoughts on women shine through, Republicans have been busy. We need to be busier. Jumping into my new job has reinforced what I already knew: that Democrats around the country are hard at work to improve healthcare, protect voting rights, and reduce gun violence in our communities. But Republicans are fighting back -- hard. We've got a lot of work to do, and I'm glad to be on your team. Weigh in, and let us know what you think: http://my.democrats.org/Survey Looking forward to it, Mo Mo Elleithee Communications Director Democratic National Committee |
