You've heard me say it before: We're at an inflection point, one of those moments that only a few generations ever face. The direction we take is going to decide the course of this nation for decades to come.
It's always been my vision that we rebuild the backbone of America -- America's middle class -- and unite the country.
Together, we capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare. Let's finish the job and cap the cost of insulin for everybody at $35.
Together, we passed the Inflation Reduction Act -- the most significant investment ever in fighting climate change -- lowering utility bills, creating American jobs, and leading the world towards a clean energy future. There's more to do, and we've got to finish the job.
Understand this: Social Security and Medicare are lifelines for millions of seniors. So let's stand up for seniors and show them we will not cut Social Security, we will not cut Medicare. If anyone tries to cut Social Security, if anyone tries to cut Medicare, I'll stop them. I'll veto it.
And make no mistake about it, if Congress passes a national abortion ban, I will veto it. Congress must protect the rights from Roe v. Wade.
We can do these things and more if we stick together. Will you chip in $25 to the DNC to help power the critical work of electing Democrats in all corners of our great nation?
We the people are facing the test of our time. We have to be the nation we have always been -- a nation that embraces light over darkness, hope over fear, stability over chaos.
We have to see each other as fellow Americans. We are good people. We are the only nation in the world built on an idea. The only one.
Thank you, and God bless you.
Joe
Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
President of the United States
