We're almost halfway through January, and Democrats are off to a great start to the year.
The support from this grassroots team makes our progress possible -- and for that, we want to say thank you!
Read on for a look at what President Biden and Democrats have been up to this week →
Presidential Citizens Medals
For the first time in President Biden's presidency, he bestowed the Presidential Citizens Medal, one of our nation's highest civilian honors. It recognizes Americans who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.
The honorees included some of those who defended our democracy with courage and bravery during the violent insurrection on January 6, 2021. We owe an immense amount of gratitude to these heroes, and we're proud to see them bestowed with such honors.
A Historic Economic Recovery
Under President Biden's leadership, we currently have one of the lowest unemployment rates in 50 years. With over 11 million jobs created, more Americans are working than ever before. That's no accident -- it's the result of the Biden-Harris agenda in action.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in Action
Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, more than 7,000 infrastructure projects started last year. On top of that, this year, more than 20,000 projects will be underway. Twenty thousand!
These projects include upgrading and building new bridges, installing clean lead pipes, getting more people access to high-speed internet, creating good-paying construction and manufacturing jobs, and so much more. All of these will bring critical infrastructure to working families and Americans across the nation -- and it's proof that when Democrats are in charge, we deliver.
