When I made the commitment to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court, I could see this day. In fact, when I decided to run, this was one of the first decisions I made. I could just see it.
I want today to serve as a day of hope, a day of promise, a day of progress. A day when once again, the moral arc of the universe bends a little more towards justice.
Soon, Ketanji Brown Jackson will join the United States Supreme Court -- and like every justice, the decisions she makes will impact the lives of Americans for a lot longer, in many cases, than any laws we all make. But the truth is, she's already impacting the lives of so many Americans.
So, I wanted to ask you today: Will you add your name to celebrate Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation to the Supreme Court? I can tell you it'd mean the world to me and to her too:
I know that none of this would've been possible without the support of this team, who helped elect Kamala and me and flip the Senate for Democrats. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Joe
Joseph R. Biden Jr.
President of the United States
