Congratulations, California!
California voters made their voices heard loud and clear on Tuesday. Governor Gavin Newsom beat the Republican-sponsored recall by double digits -- demonstrating that no matter how hard the GOP tries to impose their radical, right-wing agenda, they can't out-win Democrats' strong, measured leadership.
This victory was not a given, and it was folks like you who made it happen. To those who organized their communities, reached out to voters, and donated what they could -- thank you.
COVID-19 Action Plan
President Biden announced the COVID-19 Action Plan, which takes strategic steps to keep folks safe and beat back the pandemic. The Action Plan will aim to increase vaccinations, decrease COVID-19 hospitalizations, and keep schools and our economy open.
The Department of Labor will also enact an emergency rule requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workers are fully vaccinated, and if not, mandate weekly testing. Employers must also give their employees paid time off to get vaccinated -- making it easier than ever for folks to take steps to protect themselves and their communities.

Abortion is Health Care
Texas Republicans enacted an extreme anti-choice law that effectively ended Roe v. Wade protections in the state -- and now, Republican lawmakers nationwide are seeing if they can get away with the same in their states.
Here at the DNC, we're as committed as ever to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. That's one of the reasons why we recently launched our "Abortion is Health Care" t-shirt.
