Election Day is less than two weeks away. Pitch in $10 to help us elect Hillary and Democrats up and down the ticket in every state. This is one of the first headlines I saw when I woke up this morning: If you thought you'd seen the worst of Republicans' obstructionism, think again. Senate Republicans like Ted Cruz and John McCain are willing to keep the Supreme Court at eight members (or seven, or six) for years if Hillary wins. And by the way, it's not just the Supreme Court at stake. There are more than 60 vacant federal judgeships creating massive backlogs in our justice system because of Republicans' outright refusal to confirm President Obama's nominees. The Senate confirms Cabinet nominations, too. What happens if Ted Cruz decides to ignore the next president's nominee for Secretary of Defense? Republicans could cripple all three branches of government by simply refusing to do their jobs. As of this morning, The New York Times gives Republicans a four-in-ten chance of keeping their majority -- that's a four-in-ten chance that the Senate won't do a damn thing for years. Those odds are way too high for my liking -- if you agree, chip in $10 or more before our final monthly deadline on Monday. We need your help to push our turnout operations in key Senate races to the next level. If you've saved your payment information, your donation will go through immediately.
