We only have 49 days left until Election Day. Help us make every one count -- pitch in $3 or more right now: Friend -- It's shocking and disappointing to see that nearly three-quarters of Republican voters still think that President Obama wasn't born in this country -- and it's thanks to Donald Trump continuing to peddle this racist claptrap for the past five years. They say that the cover-up is worse than the crime. Well, the way that Trump has tried to walk back his history of birtherism since Chairwoman Brazile emailed on Friday morning is downright shameful. In true Trump fashion, there were lies as Trump, his campaign, and top Republicans tried to wipe away five years of tweets, interviews, and the foundation for his entire run for president. To make things worse, Trump's surrogates -- including RNC Chairman Reince Priebus -- spent the rest of the day trying to lay Trump's bogus claim at Hillary Clinton's feet. We can't let Donald Trump escape his lies and bigotry. He founded his campaign in an effort to delegitimize the first African American President of the United States. We're going to make sure his campaign ends for good when polls close on November 8th: https://my.democrats.org/Stronger-Together Thanks, Brandon Brandon Davis Chief of Staff Democratic National Committee -------- Forwarded message ------- Sender: Donna Brazile Sent: Friday, Sep 16, 2016 Subject: We just need a few more folks from your area this morning Friend -- In a poll taken last month, 72% of registered Republican voters still doubt President Obama is a citizen of the United States. You read that right. And a lot of that disinformation is due to Donald Trump. Donald Trump kicked off his political career by feeding into this absurd birther conspiracy theory. Five years and so-much-proof-of-President-Obama's-birth-certificate-they-even-printed-it-on-a-mug later, Trump still refuses to acknowledge that our president was born in this country. When that man said he would "never change," he meant it. This is what we're up against -- someone who is so blindly driven by bigotry that he cannot bring himself to acknowledge a simple truth, and who brings out the worst in the people who follow him. So I need a few more supporters from your community who are committed to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot to step up. I need a few more folks from your community committed to keep hatred out of the White House and Congress to step up. Can I count on you to step up? Pitch in $3 today.
