Friend -- If you believe in equal pay for equal work, today's a big day. President Obama is signing two executive orders that will make it easier for female federal contractors to discover unfair differences in pay -- a meaningful step toward closing the wage gap. And we have the opportunity to take another big step this week, and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act in the Senate, which would extend protections to all women workers. Add your name to support the President's executive orders, and call on Congress to take the next step for paycheck fairness. Women make up nearly half of the American workforce, yet we still only make 77 cents to each dollar earned by men. That's unfair to women, and it's a major problem for families -- women are the primary or sole breadwinners in 40 percent of America's households with children. President Obama and other Democrats understand this -- that's why the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was the first piece of legislation that he signed into law as president. But there's still more work to do. So on National Equal Pay Day, join Democrats across the country who are standing up for equal pay: http://my.democrats.org/Equal-Pay-for-Women All the best, Amy Amy K.
