Pacquiao -- When it comes to the next few years, I think we're in a much better position for success than our opponents are -- with one big caveat. We've made enormous investments to build our organization in every single precinct, city, and state in the country, and it's paid off in a big way: We have Democratic senators from North Dakota, Alaska, and Indiana -- and President Obama won 332 electoral votesin 2012. We're also building an organization in traditionally red states like Texas, Arizona, and Georgia that's going to help us win elections in those states in the years to come. But here's the thing: All of this falls apart if we don't have the resources to keep it going. Chip in $5 or more today, and help us preserve, protect, and build this organization across the country before tomorrow's fundraising deadline. Republicans and their allies have corporate donors with deep pockets, and they're currently funding efforts to try to catch up with our outstanding voter outreach, digital, and technology advantages. I'm confident that we'll be able to stay ahead of them, as long as we're in the same ballpark with them when it comes to fundraising. This isn't just a political game -- this fight will have real-life consequences. Republicans are building up their organization so they can elect more candidates who would slash the social safety net, end Medicare as we know it, and make it harder for women to control their own health care decisions. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen -- and I know our party can do it. But we can't fall short on the fundraising front. Help us close the fundraising gap before tomorrow's deadline: http://my.democrats.org/Important-Deadline Thanks, Debbie Debbie Wasserman Schultz Chair Democratic National Committee P.S. -- This is the first quarterly fundraising deadline of President Obama's second term, let's make it a good one. |
