Us vs. them

Democrats
Pacquiao --

When it comes to the next few years, I think we're in a much better position for success than our opponents are -- with one big caveat.

We've made enormous investments to build our organization in every single precinct, city, and state in the country, and it's paid off in a big way: We have Democratic senators from North Dakota, Alaska, and Indiana -- and President Obama won 332 electoral votesin 2012. We're also building an organization in traditionally red states like Texas, Arizona, and Georgia that's going to help us win elections in those states in the years to come.

But here's the thing: All of this falls apart if we don't have the resources to keep it going.

Chip in $5 or more today, and help us preserve, protect, and build this organization across the country before tomorrow's fundraising deadline.

Republicans and their allies have corporate donors with deep pockets, and they're currently funding efforts to try to catch up with our outstanding voter outreach, digital, and technology advantages. I'm confident that we'll be able to stay ahead of them, as long as we're in the same ballpark with them when it comes to fundraising.

This isn't just a political game -- this fight will have real-life consequences. Republicans are building up their organization so they can elect more candidates who would slash the social safety net, end Medicare as we know it, and make it harder for women to control their own health care decisions.

I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen -- and I know our party can do it. But we can't fall short on the fundraising front.

Help us close the fundraising gap before tomorrow's deadline:

Marriage equality

Democrats
Pacquiao --

This week, the Supreme Court heard two important cases that will affect the future of marriage equality in America.

We don't know what the court will decide, but here's what we do know: There's only one party fighting to make sure that every American has the right to marry the person that they love.

Support the Democrats across the country who are fighting for marriage equality today.

When it comes to marriage equality, the Republican Party has made their position clear: they're opposed to giving same-sex couples the right to get married.

In 2012, they nominated a candidate for president who pledged to support a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage -- and despite all their post-election talk about opening up their party to more groups of people, they've steadfastly refused to take any real steps in moderating their position when it comes to gay rights.

We can't affect the decision the Supreme Court will make in the coming months, but we can make sure the elected officials who are deciding these issues at the federal, state, and local levels are people who are going to be on the right side of history.

Chip in $5 or more today and support Democrats:

Thank you, Pacquiao

I know we've come to you many times over the past year asking you to support this organization, Pacquiao.

I also know that there aren't a bunch of elections this year, so you may not feel that same urgency we all felt last year.

But believe me, the work Democrats are doing right now -- investing in and building state parties, building relationships with voters, and developing new tools to organize -- is what will put us in a position to win elections in the years to come.

Chip in $5 or more before Sunday's critical fundraising deadline and help Democrats finish the work we've set out to do.

I can't tell you how much Barack and I appreciate your support, Pacquiao. Because of supporters like you, we'll be able to fight to fix our broken immigration system, reduce gun violence, and create a fairer tax system for every American.

With your support, we'll be able to continue that work -- and we'll be able to build on it going forward.

Help Democrats today:

Three years

Democrats
Pacquiao --

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, I wondered how many more birthdays I would get with my kids or how many more anniversaries I'd celebrate with my husband. But at least I knew that I would have access to quality, reliable health coverage -- and I worried about those who didn't have that same peace of mind.

But, three years ago today, the Affordable Care Act became law and I breathed a sigh of relief. Because I knew that this law would guarantee that millions of Americans like me will never have to worry about being denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition, millions of seniors would have benefits that help pay for life-saving medicine, women would have access to critical preventive care at no cost, and families won't face bankruptcy because of an illness.

Chip in $5 or more today to protect this law.

Republicans are doing everything they can to undo this progress. They've voted more than 35 times to repeal health care reform. And just this week Michele Bachmann, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, and Paul Ryan vowed to continue the fight to repeal this critical legislation.

It's up to us to stop them. Obamacare may have been passed and upheld, but Democrats across the country must have the necessary resources to fight to protect health care reform and to keep Republicans who want to repeal it out of office.

Donate $5 or more today to help us fight to protect the progress we've made:

In President Obama's corner

Democrats
Pacquiao --

Republicans in the House of Representatives are voting right now to pass a budget that will slash the social safety net to threads, give the wealthiest Americans enormous tax breaks, and end Medicare as we know it.

They're acting like the elections last November never happened.

At this moment, it's critical for President Obama and Democrats across the country to have supporters like you in their corner:

Stand with President Obama

Democrats
Pacquiao --

This week, my Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives will vote to give the wealthiest Americans a massive tax cut paid for by seniors, middle-class families, and students.

This is a wake-up call. Last year's election didn't make the Republicans' policies any less extreme, and it didn't make them any less eager to enact them.

I'm standing with President Obama and my Democratic colleagues to make good on the progress Americans voted for this past November, and I need you to stand with us.

We've accomplished a tremendous amount together over the past four years, but it couldn't be more clear that our opponents will roll all of that progress back if we give them a chance. Let's not give them one.

Let President Obama and other Democrats know that you're with us:

What's next:

Democrats
Pacquiao --

I know that I've come to you many times asking for your help.

I also know that these appeals can get a little tiresome -- and that things may seem less urgent now that we're not on the cusp of a presidential election.

But believe me, the money we raise today is critically important. We're laying the groundwork today for the 2014 midterms and the 2016 presidential election, and for the many battles between now and then. What we do now to educate voters might be the difference between whether or not we win those battles.

Donate $5 or more today to lay a strong foundation for the future.

We've got ambitious goals for the coming months and years. We have legislative battles to win on reforming immigration, reducing gun violence, and protecting the middle class. And we want to take back the House in 2014 and keep control of the Senate.

But without the resources we need ahead of these fights, there's no chance that we'll be able to accomplish everything we have set out to do.

It's up to all of us to step up and do everything we can to build our foundation now. Donate $5 or more today to help us fight:

http://my.democrats.org/Lay-the-Foundation
