When you look at what Republicans are doing in states like Texas, Missouri, Indiana and others to redraw the congressional maps, know that this is about one thing:
Cheating to maintain power.
As you know, this is not a census year, but it is the year of the so-called "Big, Beautiful Bill" and the unpopularity of it. So Republicans want to bend the rules.
They know that taking health care from working families and sick people is not a winning argument.
They know that cutting education funds, SNAP benefits is not a winning argument.
They know that getting rid of cancer research is not a winning argument.
So they are cheating. Because they know they can't win if they don't cheat.
That is why I am proud that right here in California, the voters will lead the fight for fairness and not allow the people who want to cheat democracy to win.
I hope you are paying attention to what is happening here in California. I hope you are donating, volunteering, and sharing the news about this election with your friends. You can get involved here.
It is time to fight fire with fire. That is what this moment is requiring of all of us.
