| Friend, I hope that you'll give me a moment of your time today to share the story of a young woman in Texas by the name of Kate Cox. Kate is a mother of two. She and her husband were excited to be expecting again. But sadly, early on in her pregnancy, Kate's physician identified that carrying that pregnancy to term could result in harm to Kate. So, Kate sought out an abortion. Unfortunately, Kate currently lives in Texas – a state that criminalizes access to abortion. So strictly, in fact, that physicians can face life in prison for providing care to women. Because of Texas's policies, Kate was stuck in legal limbo for weeks trying to determine how to get the care she needed. As a result, she had to travel to another state to receive the health care she needed. I think it's important to share Kate's story. It is horrifying and it is illustrative of the harm done by the policies Donald Trump and extremist Republicans support. The exact policies that we must fight against. Joe and I are committed to protecting the right to an abortion. We will not rest until we restore reproductive freedoms for women across this nation. But until that happens, we know that Trump and Republicans in Congress will stop at nothing to pass a national abortion ban. So that is why today I am asking you: Will you join me and thousands of other Biden-Harris supporters today and add your name today to say you support the right to an abortion? Elections matter, and we can't sit on the sidelines in 2024 while Republicans plan to criminalize abortion nationwide. Thank you for making your voice heard on this critical issue.
