We knew we wanted to make color-changing mugs happen, but we could never have anticipated how many people it would take to make it real. In June, our team of unionized designers started mocking up the base graphic. And while that was happening, our product masterminds started running science experiments to figure out the magic sunglasses.   Eventually, we figured it all out and made our first prototype that worked. The only problem was, we needed a LOT more of them -- thousands more.  Making the number we needed required a print shop in Texas to find this machine and a father and son to drive it to them all the way from Connecticut.   When it arrived, we had to hope it worked right: We couldn't tell for certain just yet because the warehouse was so hot, the ink was invisible.   Now, each time we have a cup of joe with our very own magic, color-changing mugs, we are reminded of the talent and grit it took to make it real.
