Bipartisan Safer Communities Act The recently passed Bipartisan Safer Communities Act is one of the most significant steps Congress has taken to reduce gun violence in decades. This bill clarifies who needs a federal license to buy and sell firearms, enhances background checks, and narrows the "boyfriend loophole." The bill also provides states with funding to implement extreme risk protection order programs, drug courts, and other crisis intervention programs, and expands access to mental health services. 
DNC's Defend Choice Week of Action
In response to the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, the DNC held a Defend Choice Week of Action to continue our fight to protect abortion rights. Democrats have and will continue to mobilize supporters and engage voters across the country to call out Republicans for attacking abortion rights, highlight what is at stake in November, and organize in all 50 states to elect Democrats up and down the ballot as the backstop to protecting abortion rights. While Republicans are working to enact their extreme, anti-choice agendas across the country, we are taking action to defend reproductive rights.

President Biden is Taking Action on Gas Prices
Average gas prices have declined by about 50 cents per gallon over the past month. And President Biden is committed to getting prices even lower. The president is releasing an average of one million barrels of oil a day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and rallied our global partners to release a combined 240 million barrels of oil onto the market. These actions are working, and prices are coming down.
