On Tuesday, Democrats nationwide celebrated the Lunar New Year. To welcome in the Year of the Tiger, some of our DNC staff sat down to send their warmest wishes:
This week also marked the beginning of Black History Month. Throughout Black History Month and all year long, Democrats celebrate the contributions of Black Americans past and present.
Both our party and our nation have come so far standing on the shoulders of giants like Fannie Lou Hamer, Jesse Jackson, and Shirley Chisholm, who paved a path for the historic leadership of President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris.
From the fight for equal rights in order to -- in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. -- bend the long arc of the moral universe towards justice to pushing back against modern-day Republican anti-voter efforts, Democrats are committed to showing up.

A big announcement
Following Justice Stephen Breyer's retirement announcement, President Biden said that he will carry out his duty to name a highly qualified nominee to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat -- and that his nominee will be the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. This appointment will add to President Biden's record of building a more diverse Court of Appeals, with more Black women appointed to the Court of Appeals than any president ever.
President Biden promised to nominate and confirm the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, and with Justice Breyer's retirement, that is exactly what he is doing. If you want to thank the President for keeping his word, sign our card today.
Free COVID-19 tests
The Biden-Harris administration recently launched a program that sends free COVID-19 tests straight to your door. Ordering free tests is easy and convenient. Take it from President Biden himself:
If you haven't already, go to COVIDtests.gov to get up to four free tests for your household.
Cancer Moonshot Relaunch
In 2016, then Vice President Biden launched the Cancer Moonshot to accelerate progress in the fight against cancer. This week, President Biden and Vice President Harris reignited the Cancer Moonshot, touching on their own experiences of losing loved ones to cancer.
The Biden-Harris administration has committed to reducing the death rate from cancer by at least 50 percent and improving the lives of people and their families living with and surviving cancer. President Biden and Jill Biden are also taking action to jumpstart cancer screenings that were missed because of the pandemic and help ensure everyone equitably benefits from the tools we have to prevent, detect, and diagnose cancer.

Get involved:
The DNC plays a critical role in building campaigns on the ground -- but did you know it also runs a nationwide voter protection program and helps get the word out about the Biden-Harris administration's accomplishments?
As we get closer to the 2022 midterms, it could not be more important that this team gets involved. You helped flip the Senate, hold our House majority, and win back the White House. There's nothing we can't do if we work together.
Consider chipping in $25 -- or whatever you can afford -- to the DNC today.
