Folks,
As we celebrate our nation's independence today, I'd like to take a moment to write to you about exactly what we've accomplished together this year.
Just a few months ago, I said that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. My hope for our nation was that we could come together once again -- holding small cookouts with close friends and family to celebrate July Fourth.
Now, over 156 million Americans are vaccinated against COVID-19. Workers are getting back on the job and small businesses are reopening their doors. America is on the move again.
We're also on track to pass a historic investment in our nation's infrastructure to keep building back better. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework will create good-paying American jobs, replace our nation's dangerous lead pipes, and make sure every American has access to high-speed, affordable broadband. It will be good for the economy and good for our people.
Last but not least, we're getting our global alliances back in order. We're donating half a billion vaccines to help countries in dire need from this pandemic because we know we have an obligation to save as many lives as we can, and we value the inherent dignity of all people. That's America.
Jill and I are celebrating our freedom alongside first responders, essential workers, and military service members later tonight. And, while we watch fireworks over the National Mall, I will be thinking of the strength of this team.
Because of you, our country is firmly on the road to recovery. I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done to help us build our country back better.
Happy July Fourth! Thanks so much for your continued support.
Joe
Joseph R. Biden Jr.
President of the United States
P.S. This team put our country back on track by helping elect Kamala and me and helping get the American Rescue Plan passed. Now, we're counting on you to keep electing Democrats who support our vision. If you can -- and only if you can -- please consider making a $25 donation to the DNC to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in the years ahead.
