Friend -- I'm thrilled to welcome former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to the race as the third official candidate to seek our party's nomination for president. For years he's worked tirelessly as an advocate for the middle class by prioritizing education funding, raising the minimum wage in Maryland, and expanding voting rights. Simply put, Martin O'Malley has a record of getting things done, and he's ready to bring the fight as the election gets underway. Are you? Three great candidates have thrown their hats in the ring so far to be our party's nominee for president, but let me be clear about one thing: We're up against Republicans like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Mike Huckabee -- all of whom want to reverse all the progress we've made under President Obama and enact policies that will take us back decades. When it comes to issues like expanding health care, boosting our economy, and advancing equal rights, these guys are consistently on the wrong side of the majority of Americans. You know it, I know it, and our Democratic candidates for president do, too. We can't let all the work we've done unravel and we can't return to the failed policies of the past. So let's make sure we keep them as far away from the White House as we can.
