Well, we struck a nerve

Republicans are continuing to dig in over the shutdown and argue that they're winning the debate over the direction of the country.

So here's what we did: We started calling people in Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Florida, and other states across the country to tell them how they could get in touch with the Republicans who brought on the shutdown. We started running ads online telling voters how they could speak out.

And it seems to have struck a nerve. Republicans are suddenly buying ads of their own to strike back, because they're hearing from a LOT of angry constituents -- and they're starting to panic.

To me, that means one thing: These guys know that the only people who are damaged by this shutdown even worse than the millions of people who rely on a functioning government are themselves.
