Fun graphic:
Game of Thrones
Pacquiao -- "The louder they scream, the more we know we're getting something done." That's not a line from one of the bad guys on Game of Thrones. That's something that Texas Governor Rick Perry actually said this week about his own constituents -- the ones fighting for women's health. He was referring to the sweeping anti-choice legislation that he's trying to ram through in the Texas state legislature -- legislation that was blocked earlier this week by a courageous group of legislators led by State Senator Wendy Davis -- which would have the effect of shutting down access to basic health care for many women across the state. I don't understand how Rick Perry could look at what happened in the Texas state house this week -- where thousands of Texans gathered to support Wendy and her colleagues against this extreme anti-woman legislation -- and take it as a sign that he's doing a good job. But that's what we're up against. A lot of people thought the Republicans would take a lesson from the loss we handed them last November -- I certainly hoped they would moderate their policies and rhetoric, especially towards women and other underrepresented groups. But eight months later, they still look like the same party that talked about "binders full of women," the same party who said their "job is not to worry" about 47 percent of the American people, and the same party that talked about "legitimate rape." The Republicans aren't becoming more reasonable -- if anything, they've become more extreme. And if we don't get serious now, they'll be in a good position to have major gains in federal and state offices across the country later this year and in the years to come. I'm not willing to let that happen. I hope you aren't either, Pacquiao. There's a critical fundraising deadline at midnight tonight that will have a major impact on our ability to beat them at the polls. Please chip in $5 or more before then, and help support Democrats like Wendy Davis who are going to take it to Republicans like Rick Perry: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Debbie Debbie Wasserman Schultz Chair Democratic National Committee P.S. -- Everything we fought for in last year's election is at stake right now. We can't wait for the next campaign to get going. Get started right now. |

Let's get this done
Pacquiao -- There's never been as much distance -- at least since I've been alive -- between where the mainstream of the Republican Party is and the Democratic Party is. It's a chasm. It's a gigantic chasm. I'm not talking about the character or even the quality of the minds of the Republicans in Congress -- they're not bad guys. But they don't get it. It's never been more important to elect and support Democrats who are going to have Barack's back, both in D.C. and across the country. Chip in $5 or more to do just that before tomorrow's fundraising deadline. This isn't your father's Republican party. When I asked several Republican senators after they voted against background checks, not one offered an explanation on the merits of why they couldn't vote for them. But almost to a person, they said, "I don't want to take on Ted Cruz. I don't want to take on Rand Paul. They'll be in my district." We need people in Washington who are going to listen to their constituents -- not to Ted Cruz. Help support Democrats before midnight tomorrow: https://my.democrats.org/Deadline Thanks, Joe

The flat-earth society
Pacquiao -- Just this week, President Obama announced his comprehensive plan to tackle climate change. And guess what? The climate-change deniers are already out in full force. It's astounding to me that in 2013 there are still people who claim that climate change isn't real -- a viewpoint with no basis in scientific fact. But because these people have the backing of powerful special interests, they've been able to control much of the conversation in Washington and halt progress on these critical issues. And while I hate to say it, if we don't act quickly to support the President, they might win again. Will you stand up to climate-change deniers and stand with President Obama? Under the President's plan, we have a real chance to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and create a more sustainable future for our children, and our children's children. But it won't happen if we don't act. I can guarantee you that this will be a big fight -- many Republicans will deny science and claim that "those liberals" are making it up. But you, me, and 97 percent of scientists know better -- climate change is real and we have to act now before it's too late. As the President said, "we don't have time for a meeting of the flat-earth society." Stand up and fight today: http://my.democrats.org/Climate-Change Thanks, Patrick Patrick Gaspard Executive Director Democratic National Committee |

DOMA
Pacquiao -- The Supreme Court has just struck down the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, giving tens of thousands of Americans the federal rights and protections that they've been unfairly denied for years. It's just the latest step we've made in recent years toward a more equal country where people aren't treated differently because of who they love. This progress wouldn't have happened without the hard work of activists and people like you -- and we won't finish the fight for equality unless we all step up and finish it. Commit to standing with the Democrats who are fighting for equality today, and let's make sure we have more days like this to celebrate. There is no gay agenda or straight agenda. As Democrats, our only agenda is full equality under the law for every American. For so many Americans, today's decision was personal -- just as it was when President Obama signed the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, put in place hospital visitation rights for LGBT couples, and established the first comprehensive National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Of course there is more to do. But today's decision shows how the tide has turned in our favor. By coming together and supporting Democrats across the country who are fighting for equal rights at the federal and state levels, we can make real progress. Please join me and fight for equal rights for every American: http://my.democrats.org/DOMA Equality is not an aspiration, it's a destination we will reach together. The Voting Rights Act
Pacquiao -- The Voting Rights Act, first signed into law in 1965, was a keystone victory of the civil rights movement. American citizens withstood beatings, fire hoses and dogs to see the law passed. Some even gave their lives. And for decades since, the law has protected the right to vote for millions of America's citizens -- regardless of faith, color or creed. Today's ruling by the Supreme Court striking down parts of this important law is more than a disappointment -- it's an injustice. But we can't let it discourage us or force us out of this fight. There is so much more work we can do to ensure everyone has the right -- and the ability -- to vote. That's the work Democrats are doing every day. Say you're with me and Democrats who are fighting to protect the right to vote for all Americans -- add your name today. In the last few years, Republicans have dramatically stepped up their efforts to limit voting access. They've tried passing restrictive voter ID laws, cutting back early-voting hours, and eliminating same-day voter registration. The list goes on. These threats are real. I'm sure you saw the images of long lines at the polls in Florida last November -- or heard about the voter ID laws Republicans tried to pass in Ohio and North Carolina. The good news is that Democrats have organized and stopped many of these Republican attempts -- and we're going to continue to stand guard to stop future Republican attacks, and work to expand voting access state by state. Because a belief that our electoral system works best when all of our voices are heard is essential to who we are as Democrats. We faced a setback with the Supreme Court's decision today, Pacquiao. I can't sugarcoat that. But I hope you won't give up, because let me tell you -- I am most certainly not giving up. Stand with Democrats who are fighting Republican attacks on voting rights: http://my.democrats.org/Voting-Rights Thanks, Donna Donna Brazile Vice-Chair for Voter Registration and Participation Democratic National Committee

Hey
Pacquiao -- As Martin Luther King, Jr. said: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." Eventually, we get it right. That doesn't mean we can be patient. We know from our own history that change only happens because people push to make it happen. From Minnesota to Maryland, from the United States Senate to the NBA, it's clear we're reaching a turning point in the struggle for equality for all Americans. Hearts and minds change with time. Laws do, too. But change like that isn't something that starts here in Washington -- it starts with you. I'm asking you to stand with the Democrats across the country who are making that change happen right now. If you're in, let me know right now. This work we do now can be traced back to our Declaration of Independence -- the fundamental principle that all of us are created equal. And if we truly are created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. That's the principle that's guided my administration over the past four and a half years -- from passing a hate crimes bill in Matthew Shepard's name, to strengthening the Violence Against Women Act to protect LGBT victims, to repealing the discriminatory Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Together, we can make more progress -- after the last four and a half years, you've seen how much we're capable of doing. Stand with me and the Democrats across the country who are working to make this a more equal nation: http://my.democrats.org/Equality Thanks, Barack

A single vote
Pacquiao -- We have huge battles coming down the pike. A single vote in Congress may determine the outcome of immigration reform. A single vote may very well determine the next Supreme Court Justice. A single vote could be the difference between whether we get to take a step forward on issues like preventing gun violence, protecting women's rights, or implementing Obamacare. My good friend Ed Markey, who's running to fill John Kerry's Senate seat in Massachusetts, could be that vote -- and if he is, I know he'll do the right thing. Chip in $5 or more to help us elect Democrats like Ed who will have Barack's back in the months and years to come. I know and trust Ed. I'm absolutely confident that no matter what the pressures are, he'll vote his conscience and have the courage of his convictions. We'd be lucky to have a person of his caliber in the Senate -- but we can't take any election for granted. Don't wake up wondering if you could have done more. Chip in $5 right now: https://my.democrats.org/Ed-Markey Thanks, Joe

A very bad day
Pacquiao -- Chances are, you or someone you know -- a son, daughter, friend, or spouse -- has a federal student loan. And if Congress doesn't take action in the next couple weeks, they could have a very bad day on July 1st. Federal student loan rates are scheduled to double on July 1st. President Obama and Democrats have a plan to keep this from happening, but Republicans in Congress aren't on board with it. Millions of people will be affected by the outcome of this, so we wanted to give them a way to share their story. Take a look at our new site, then add your voice to demand that Republicans in Congress work to keep student loan rates low. If you have a student loan, take a second to share your story. And if you know one of the seven million Americans who could see their federal student loan rate double in a few weeks, tell them to go to democrats.org/DontDoubleMyRate and share their own story. Protect choice
Pacquiao -- I can't believe we're fighting about women's rights in 2013. Since I was sworn in as a U.S. senator in January, Senate Republicans have voted twice against the Violence Against Women Act. They've voted against a woman's right to choose. And they've voted against access to birth control. Each of these votes has been close, and I've seen firsthand how important it is to elect Democrats that women can count on -- not some of the time, but all of the time. That's one of the reasons Democrats like First Lady Michelle Obama and I are working so hard for Ed Markey in the upcoming Massachusetts Senate special election. We need to win every race we can. Help elect candidates like Ed Markey and add to the Democratic pro-women voices in the Senate -- chip in $5 or more now. Throughout his career in public service, Ed has been a champion for women's rights. He's sponsored fair pay legislation, voted repeatedly to protect a woman's right to control her own body, and has a 100 percent positive rating from Planned Parenthood. Ed's been great! It's up to Democrats to do everything we can to make sure that we don't lose the pro-choice votes we need in the Senate. Donate now to help Democrats like Ed Markey who protect choice represent us in the Senate: https://my.democrats.org/Ed-Markey Thank you for being a part of this, Elizabeth Senator Elizabeth Warren Massachusetts

Fast
There's love between man and his machine (aka: shiny paint jobs on cars most of us can only afford to download images of); the love of the adrenaline (aka: there goes the neighbourhood, and the city reconstruction budget); the love of a man along with his fellow man (aka: bulked-up biceps and relentless I-shall-not-look-you-in-the-eye bromance)tiket pesawat. 'Fast & Angry 6' is a deeply romantic movie; in fact the sentiment of affection is so great that it transcends categories. There also love for the relatives and the urge to keep it together but most importantly to the antagonist of the film the love of funds. These last factors play a sizable role in Fast 6 (often known as Angry 6). The former of the reasons include the misleadingly deceased Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodrigues), Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) former girl-friend, turned amnesiac female muscle of the villains.tiket Pekanbaru - jakarta Letty actual necessity as the necessity of any of the parts of the Fast franchise is open to doubt. Perhaps it is as much as the plot tool about the villains needing a chip to make a Nightshade contraption able to blacking out the power of a whole region (seriously? Well they experience the use of same tool every day, I guess). This matters not, because for whatever its worth, the Fast movies are beyond unexciting. Mr. Diesel and co. is the reason behind the sale of the tickets; later DVD; much later the commercials on tv. His recent workmates include Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Gina Carano as Riley Hicks aka the anti Letty. Seeing Ms. Carano and Ms. Rodrigues duke it out is of the giddy delights of Fast 6 (they duke it out two times, so the ticket automatically pays for itself two times at go). However, there still more. In keeping with the style here what you get: Hobbs and Dominic with their bulging biceps muscle out frames, trying out designs to knock out the bad man mercenary (Luke Evans); Brian (Paul Walker), now relegated to a notch-above-extra status, travels back to the US to learn how Letty survived; Roman and Tej (Tyrese Gibson and Chris Ludacris Badges) play with machines; Han and Giesel (Sung Kang, Gal Gadot) provide ancillary window dressing. And naturally, let not forget the usual: mean hot-rods, skimpily clad ladies and road-crushing, people-crunching finales involving a tank, the other a runaway airplane on a hundred mile runway. Fast 5 climax involved a sizable bank vault being through the city, so in keeping with reality is not a priority here. But by now, you already know that. Released by Footprint Entertainment and Universal Pics. Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and Elsa Pataky. Fast & Angry 6 is Directed by Justin Lin; Written by Chris Morgan (based on characters created by Gary Scott Thompson); Produced by Neil H. Moritz, Clayton Townsend and Vin Diesel; with Cinematography by Stephen F. Windon, Editing by Christian Wagner and Kelly Matsumoto and Music by Lucas Vidal. The film is rated PG-13. Words of caution: Seldom let your children drive this recklessly; they don't have million dollar safety nets, CGI and visual effects, and screenwriters looking out for them.

Pride
Pacquiao -- We are at a crossroads in the fight for legal equality for LGBT people. Forty-one years ago, when I filed the first bills in the history of Massachusetts to fight discrimination, none of us enjoyed any rights anywhere in the U.S. Today, we have a national inclusive hate crimes law; we have ended bias in the military; we are no longer denied security clearance; in several states, employment discrimination is banned; and many of us have been able to marry the person we love. But most LGBT people don't have that right, and my marriage to Jim still lacks federal recognition. There is no national law banning job bias, and in most states, it is still legal to fire us because of who we are. There is one major obstacle to our winning the fights that remain: the overwhelming opposition of the right-wing-dominated Republican Party. Four Republicans out of 280 in Congress support our right to marry. As long as Republicans control the U.S. House, no bill to end employment discrimination will ever be allowed to get a vote. We were able to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" only because for two years we had a Democratic House, Senate and president. I wish the issue of LGBT legal equality was not partisan. I also wish I could eat more and not gain weight, but I've learned that acting on my wishes, when they're not realistic, has bad results. Given that reality, keeping Democratic control of the Senate and regaining Democratic control of the House is the necessary condition for finally winning our fight. But that won't happen without your help. I'm asking you to chip in $5 or more today to help elect Democrats who will finish the fight for equality: https://my.democrats.org/Equality There is no better way to ensure that we can take advantage of what I never expected to live to see -- the chance to drive a legal stake through the heart of that terrible prejudice that has tormented so many of us for so long. Reducing gun violence
Pacquiao -- In March, I asked Congress to show courage on gun control -- and I think we're still waiting to see some more courage on Capitol Hill. There have been setbacks on passing measures to reduce gun violence, and groups that are fighting for reform legislation are gearing back up. I've been meeting with many of these folks, including the group formed by Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly. I'll tell you what I told them: We're in this fight until we win it. I hope I can count on you in that fight -- because I've counted on you before, and together, we've won. Add your name to say you're with me, Gabby, Mark, and millions more Americans in the fight for gun safety legislation. The most important thing we can do now is build up the number of Americans who are committed to reducing gun violence. I am laser-focused on this issue. And I am telling you, your support will be critical to getting it done in Washington. Join us in the fight: http://my.democrats.org/Reduce-Gun-Violence Thanks, Joe

FW: Not very likely
Pacquiao -- I've been working for Barack Obama since he was State Senator Barack Obama -- and while so much has changed since then, so much about the President has remained the same. He's always known that he wouldn't be where he is without the opportunities he had -- and he wants to make sure that young people across the country have those same chances, no matter where they're from, what they look like, or who they love. That's why the Hope Institute -- a program we're running that will help some of the best and brightest young people from across the country get their start in public service -- is so important to him. It's important to me, too -- and I hope it is to you as well. Chip in $5 or more today to support this great project, and help strengthen the future of our party while giving young people a shot at fulfilling their dreams: https://my.democrats.org/Hope-Institute Thanks, Jordan Jordan Kaplan Finance Director Democratic National Committee -----------------Original Message----------------- From: Barack Obama Subject: Not very likely Pacquiao -- Across the country there are young people with great big, new ideas for our country's future who are not very likely to find their way into politics. This is something that means a lot. I hope you'll support this important work: https://my.democrats.org/Hope-Institute Thanks, Barack
