Pacquiao -- My name is Judy Smith. I'm from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I'm proof that the Affordable Care Act is saving lives. There's a history of breast cancer in my family, so I've tried to get regular mammograms. But because I'm now on a fixed income, I worried I'd have to skip a year here and there. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, this year I didn't have to think twice about it -- it was free, like many other basic preventive services such as cancer screenings and bone density tests for osteoporosis. And it saved my life. Cancer was detected early. That's why, when people on the other side talk about repealing the Affordable Care Act, I hope they'll think of me and the millions of people who are benefiting from this law. Right now, I'd like to ask you to join me in standing up for the Affordable Care Act. Today, my outlook is good, and I feel healthy. I don't want to think about what would have happened had I waited a year to get a mammogram. I hope that when folks hear my story, they'll understand how the new health care law is making a difference in people's lives. Please join me in standing up for the Affordable Care Act today: http://my.democrats.org/Stand-Up-for-Health-Care Thank you, Judy Albuquerque, New Mexico |
