One thing Trump wasn't lying about Monday night

Monday night's debate proved beyond a doubt that we can't let Donald Trump win this election. But there is one thing I will say: when he said, "We saw the polls come in today. I'm either winning or tied," for once, he wasn't lying. Earlier this week, the FiveThirtyEight forecast went from close to a dead heat. Their "now-cast" showed that, if the election were held right then, Trump would win. The man whose answer to why he bet on the housing crisis was, "that's called business." The man whose answer to why he doesn't pay income tax was, "that makes me smart." The man who couldn't stop himself from interrupting his opponent and yet said his strongest assets were his temperament and judgment. That same guy -- Donald Trump -- at this moment has about a 50% chance of becoming the next President of the United States. I really hope Hillary Clinton's competent, coolheaded, and honestly kickass performance convinced anyone who was still on the fence that she was the only candidate on that stage who belongs anywhere near the White House. It's not enough

Me and you

Friend -- At the debate last night, we saw how crucial it is that we all roll up our sleeves and get involved in this race. We saw exactly what's at stake: either we elect the most qualified candidate in our nation's history -- or we're stuck with four years of a man who wears his ignorance as a badge of honor. That difference is why I'm doing everything I can for Hillary. And I'm asking you to do this with me. I know that my name isn't on the ballot this time around. But all the values that you and I hold most dear -- all the principles we've fought for and all the progress we've made over the past seven and a half years: they are on the ballot. And so is tolerance, democracy, justice, and good education for our kids. Last night's debate proved beyond a doubt that we can't let Donald Trump win this election.
