Help us narrow the gap

I want to give you an update on Trump's fundraising.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat,

You've been hearing a lot about the importance of campaign fundraising recently, and I wanted to take a second to explain more about a big piece of that: Our opponents' massive fundraising lead.

Donald Trump and the RNC have more than $240 million in the bank for the general election. That's a historically unparalleled number -- in huge part because of when they started. At every turn, Trump has used his office as an opportunity to campaign instead of lead, and he's already begun to spend his war chest on attack ads against Joe Biden. We've always known that Democrats don't need to match Trump's fundraising numbers dollar for dollar, but we can't afford to fall further behind and let our candidates face Republican attacks without our full support.

We've built an incredibly strong Democratic Party infrastructure in the last three years, and we're in a good position to capitalize on these efforts as we get closer to November. That said, our financial disadvantage puts us in a tough position. A lack of resources means we're less able to plan ahead and act strategically, and that could have major consequences for our presidential nominee and Democrats down the ballot. That's why I'm asking you to do something important today:

Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC today to close the gap on Trump's fundraising lead and help Joe Biden and Democrats in competitive races fight back? Every bit helps.

Since Tom Perez took over as chair in early 2017, the DNC has made unprecedented investments in organizing, data and technology infrastructure, and voter protection efforts. We know that the presidential election is likely to be an incredibly close race, and with so many House and Senate seats up for grabs, we can't risk not fully funding these critical programs.

That's where you come in, Pat. Grassroots supporters like you are the lifeblood of the Democratic Party, and victories up and down the ballot this November require your early support.

With just 184 days until the most consequential election of our lifetimes, we need Democrats like you to commit to our shared goals now, while there's still time to make a difference. Can I count on your $7 today?

Thanks and stay safe,

Patrick

P.S. Trump's fundraising advantage is arguably the single biggest reason he could be reelected. The good news: You can fight back, Pat. Make a $7 donation and help close the gap today.

Pat, the team and I were reviewing our records following this week's FEC deadline, and I noticed something in your donor file:

It looks like you aren't on our list of 2020 Founding Donors yet.

This took me by surprise since you're one of the most dedicated members of our party, so I wanted to be sure to give you this chance to take another look at your 2020 donor file. Does this look right to you?

2020 Founding Donor Supporter Record

If you can, please make a $7 contribution today to secure your place as a 2020 Founding Donor. Over 13,570 members of this grassroots team have already made a donation to show they're ready to elect Joe Biden and Democrats in every corner of our country.

The general election has begun, Pat, and by committing to this fight early, you'll lay the foundation for Democratic successes from the top to the bottom of the ballot this year. The DNC is assembling organizers in key battleground states, building world-class data systems to mobilize voters, and shaping the narrative about how Donald Trump and Republicans are hurting American families. All of that work relies on folks like you contributing what you can early, when your investment matters most.

By becoming a 2020 Founding Donor right now, you'll directly support those initiatives while sending a powerful message about our party's strength and enthusiasm going into the most important election of our lifetimes. Joe Biden and Democrats from coast to coast are counting on you, Pat, so if you're financially able, I am asking for your help.

Secure your 2020 Founding Donor status by making your first $7 gift of 2020 today.

In unity,

Tom

How we can protect access to the ballot

Pat --

As the COVID-19 crisis continues, it is clear that the security of November’s elections will rely on ensuring that millions of Americans can vote by mail. For many of us, this is a shift in the way we make our voices heard, and state officials need to take action immediately to ensure that all Americans, no matter where they live, can safely cast their votes.

Onward Together is proud to partner with Democracy Docket, a new effort to proactively detect and combat suppressive voting laws and practices that could sway the outcome of the 2020 elections.

Make a contribution now and help give more people -- regardless of party or political preferences -- a fair chance to cast their ballot while staying safe and healthy.

As with any method of voting, vote by mail is susceptible to the voter disenfranchisement that has plagued our country in recent elections. From Georgia to Wisconsin, we’ve seen the ways uneven access to the ballot can affect the outcome of critical races. Restrictions and voter purges disproportionately burden African Americans, Latinos, young and first-time voters, non-native English speakers, and voters with disabilities.

The team at Democracy Docket has identified more than a dozen specific laws in select states that they intend to challenge through litigation as we approach one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes.

Now is when election officials must act, and it’s up to us to push them to do the right thing. Learn more at DemocracyDocket.com, then chip in to support this vital work:

ANGEL DEVOID: FACE OF THE ENEMY

The line between cinema and games blurred during the FMV craze of the mid-90s and many developers embraced the new technology wholeheartedly to varying effect. One such developer was Electric Dreams, a short-lived company who, with Mindscape on publishing duties, gave us the interactive sci-fi thriller Angel Devoid: Face of the Enemy in 1996.

We just broke records

We know our party is strongest when it's driven by, empowered by, and accountable to the grassroots. And these results are proof.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat,

I want to say thank you. April was an incredible month for our party -- and it's all because of this team, including the 157,906 grassroots Democrats who made generous investments in our work last month.

Now, I'm proud to share some exciting news: Not only did we blow past our ambitious April goal in the final hours before our deadline, but we smashed our party's year-to-date grassroots fundraising record.

Raised 93% more than 2016 YTD Beat our previous best online fundraising day of the year by 56% Raised more online from monthly donations than all of April 2016 All thanks to grassroots supporters like you!

There's a lot to love in these numbers, but I'll start with this:

The DNC isn't just the strongest or best-prepared it's ever been to win this election. It's the strongest and best-prepared because of the strength of our grassroots.

That distinction matters.

For the last three years, the DNC has made it our priority to return power to the grassroots. That goal runs through everything we do -- from reducing the role of superdelegates to prioritizing investments in local organizing -- and it's one of the reasons I'm so proud to work on a team where I get to engage with and listen to our supporters every day.

That's because we know our party is strongest when it's driven by, empowered by, and accountable to you. And these results are proof.

When we win in November, it won't be because of one organization or candidate. It will be because we earned your trust, fought for your buy-in, and invested in the results together.

Our record-breaking month of fundraising means more resources to protect the right to vote; scaling up our localized investments in battleground states; and bolstering our innovations in data, research, and more that will give every candidate -- from Joe Biden to thousands of Democrats running down-ballot -- the competitive edge they need to win.

So for that, and for all you continue to do -- from volunteering to mobilize voters online, to talking to your friends and family about why supporting Democrats matters and more -- I want to say thank you.

The road to Election Day gets even tougher from here, but I'm confident this team will rise to the occasion. Winning the most important election of our lifetimes is a momentous task, but I know we're ready to do whatever it takes to make sure Democrats have the resources they need to compete and win.

Together,

Clarke
