pacquiao -- If you're like me, you're getting bombarded with emails today from all your favorite Democratic leaders and candidates, all asking for help before tonight's FEC quarterly fundraising deadline. So here's my request for you: Read them. Donate to your favorite. Every Democrat in America is facing vicious and outlandish attacks -- because we're making change on health care, student loans, and more, and the GOP can't stand it. They need your help. But I have a second request. After you give, donate to the Democratic National Committee. Because we're fighting for each and every one of those Democrats every single day, and building a grassroots organization to back them up. And if you chip in $25 or more before midnight, we'll send you an "I stand with the President" T-shirt to say "thank you." Donate now. We've shown that Democrats are the party of action. Now, we need to show we have the strength to fight back against attacks on the progress we're making. Can you help? http://my.democrats.org/MarchDeadline Thanks, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon Executive Director Democratic National Committee

Fwd: Today, add your name to mine
pacquiao -- Last week, after signing groundbreaking health care reform into law, President Obama made a request -- that you add your name next to his as a co-signer of the legislation. Grassroots Democrats have been responding in astonishing numbers, and I hope you'll add your name today, before we deliver them all to the White House. Plus, we're offering a free, personalized certificate to every co-signer, to commemorate this moment in history and the role you played to make it possible. Click here to add your name: http://my.democrats.org/cosigner Thank you, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon Executive Director Democratic National Committee -------------Original Message------------- From: Barack Obama Subject: Today, add your name to mine Friend -- I'm writing to you on a great day for America. This morning, I gathered with members of Congress, my administration, and hardworking volunteers from every part of the country to sign comprehensive health care reform into law. Thanks to the immeasurable efforts of so many, the dream of reform is now a reality. The bill I just signed puts Americans in charge of our own health care by enacting three key changes: It establishes the toughest patient protections in history. It guarantees all Americans affordable health insurance options, extending coverage to 32 million who are currently uninsured. And it reduces the cost of care -- cutting over 1 trillion dollars from the federal deficit over the next two decades. To ensure a successful, stable transition, many of these changes will phase into full effect over the next several years. But for millions of Americans, many of the benefits of reform will begin this year -- some even taking effect this afternoon. Here are just a few examples: Small businesses will receive significant tax cuts, this year, to help them afford health coverage for all their employees. Seniors will receive a rebate to reduce drug costs not yet covered under Medicare. Young people will be allowed coverage under their parents' plan until the age of 26. Early retirees will receive help to reduce premium costs. Children will be protected against discrimination on the basis of medical history. Uninsured Americans with pre-existing conditions can join a special high-risk pool to get the coverage they need, starting in just 90 days. Insured Americans will be protected from seeing their insurance revoked when they get sick, or facing restrictive annual limits on the care they receive. All Americans will benefit from significant new investments to train primary care doctors, nurses, and public health professionals, and the creation of state-level consumer assistance programs to help all patients understand and defend our new rights. As I've said many times, and as I know to be true, this astounding victory could not have been achieved without your tireless efforts. So as we celebrate this great day, I want to invite you to add your name where it belongs: alongside mine as a co-signer of this historic legislation. Organizing for America will record the names of co-signers as a permanent commemoration of those who came together to make this moment possible -- all of you who refused to give up until the dream of many generations for affordable, quality care for all Americans was finally fulfilled. So if you haven't yet, please add your name as a proud health care reform co-signer today: http://my.democrats.org/cosigner Please accept my thanks for your voice, for your courage, and for your indispensable partnership in the great work of creating change. Heroes under attack
pacquiao -- We need to act. On Sunday night, many Congressional Democrats in tough districts cast courageous votes for health reform -- even though they knew that insurance companies and their Republican allies would retaliate immediately. Well, the attacks are here. Shameful, negative ads have already hit the airwaves. Democratic offices have been vandalized. Republicans are promising to repeal reform and smearing those who supported it. But we're ready to do what it takes to defend the heroes who made health reform possible. These are the men and women who stood with us and the President to make good on a promise that our Party has fought to deliver for a century. And we will not leave them hanging out to dry. Please chip in $5 or more to defend those in Congress who fought to make health reform possible? These are the people who worked hand in hand with President Obama and grassroots Democrats to finally bring affordable coverage to 32 million more Americans, enact the toughest insurance regulations in history, and bring down costs for families, small businesses, and our government. At a time of historic achievement for our country, Republicans and the extreme right wing are responding by pushing fear and intimidation. They've launched a campaign to "fire" Nancy Pelosi, complete with imagery of the first female Speaker of the House surrounded by flames. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter had a brick thrown through her office window. A Virginia blog posted Congressman Tom Perriello's home address, urging tea partiers to "drop by." The Democratic National Committee is already fighting back hard, with a sophisticated ad strategy, events on the ground, and the best rapid-response program in the history of politics. But we need your help to keep it up. Please chip in $5 or more: http://my.democrats.org/Heroes If we learned one thing from the fight for health reform, it's this: Hope can triumph over fear, the truth can beat out the most vicious of lies, and our movement, organized, can overcome even the most powerful of opponents. Let's not stop now. Thanks, Governor Tim Kaine Chairman

Will you add your name?
pacquiao -- President Barack Obama will soon sign comprehensive health care reform into law. A century-long fight will finally be won. As the President wrote last night, it was you who made this improbable victory possible. It was volunteers knocking on doors, talking to neighbors, and proving once again that Americans, standing together, can change the course of a nation. Supporters like us now have a chance to add our names as "Co-signers" of this historic legislation -- adding our names next to President Obama's to show our pride in helping to bring about this great achievement. We'll establish a permanent archive with all the signatures, so that generations to come will have a record of those who stood together in this moment and won this fight for our future. And I will personally present all the names we collect to the President. Will you add your name? This is the most significant domestic achievement in decades. And this movement of Americans, committed to improving their country, made it possible. We turned out for that first cold morning in Springfield, for the canvasses in New Hampshire, for the phone banks in Iowa. We kept fighting when no one gave us a chance and the cynics told us we were clinging to a false hope. We organized for health reform. We spread the facts on doorsteps, in town halls, and through millions of conversations. Your voice rang through the halls of Congress and filled the pages of local newspapers. It took many months and tremendous resolve, but we built a national network of support so strong that when the deceptive attack ads choked the airwaves and the pundits declared our effort defeated -- we had what it took to fight our way back. And we won: the toughest insurance regulations in history, affordable coverage for 32 million without it, relief from skyrocketing costs for small business owners and from rising deficits for our children. That's the story of how change really happens. And now, hundreds of millions will have better lives because of it. It's rare to be part of something so meaningful that will help change the course of history. But you are. Please consider adding your name as co-signer today to commemorate your efforts: http://my.democrats.org/Cosign Thank you, David Plouffe

This is what change looks like
pacquiao -- For the first time in our nation's history, Congress has passed comprehensive health care reform. America waited a hundred years and fought for decades to reach this moment. Tonight, thanks to you, we are finally here. Consider the staggering scope of what you have just accomplished: Because of you, every American will finally be guaranteed high quality, affordable health care coverage. Every American will be covered under the toughest patient protections in history. Arbitrary premium hikes, insurance cancellations, and discrimination against pre-existing conditions will now be gone forever. And we'll finally start reducing the cost of care -- creating millions of jobs, preventing families and businesses from plunging into bankruptcy, and removing over a trillion dollars of debt from the backs of our children. But the victory that matters most tonight goes beyond the laws and far past the numbers. It is the peace of mind enjoyed by every American, no longer one injury or illness away from catastrophe. It is the workers and entrepreneurs who are now freed to pursue their slice of the American dream without fear of losing coverage or facing a crippling bill. And it is the immeasurable joy of families in every part of this great nation, living happier, healthier lives together because they can finally receive the vital care they need. This is what change looks like. My gratitude tonight is profound. I am thankful for those in past generations whose heroic efforts brought this great goal within reach for our times. I am thankful for the members of Congress whose months of effort and brave votes made it possible to take this final step. But most of all, I am thankful for you. This day is not the end of this journey. Much hard work remains, and we have a solemn responsibility to do it right. But we can face that work together with the confidence of those who have moved mountains. Our journey began three years ago, driven by a shared belief that fundamental change is indeed still possible. We have worked hard together every day since to deliver on that belief. We have shared moments of tremendous hope, and we've faced setbacks and doubt. We have all been forced to ask if our politics had simply become too polarized and too short-sighted to meet the pressing challenges of our time. This struggle became a test of whether the American people could still rally together when the cause was right -- and actually create the change we believe in. Tonight, thanks to your mighty efforts, the answer is indisputable: Yes we can. Thank you, President Barack Obama

House vote Sunday: Call your representative today
pacquiao -- This is it: After months of hard work, the final vote on health reform in the House of Representatives is expected Sunday. It's a chance to make history and finally give Americans control over their own health care -- but it's shaping up to be incredibly close, and every member of Congress will play a critical role. So we're aiming for as many calls to Congress as possible from your area before offices close this evening. Whether you've called your representative before or haven't yet spoken out on health reform, it's now time to raise your voice. As an active constituent, your voice has particular weight with your representative -- so all those who share our commitment to reform are depending on you to speak up. Click here to look up your representative's phone number and make a call. After a century of false starts and a year of grueling negotiations, we may be just hours away from real health insurance reform in America. But if we fail, our next chance may not come for a generation. You make the call. Call your representative right away. Folks across the country will be calling, so if you get a busy signal, please try again. Look up your representative's phone number here: http://my.democrats.org/finalmarchcalls Let's win this thing, David Plouffe

What you're doing is working
pacquiao -- I wanted to take a moment to thank you directly for the outstanding work you've been doing for health reform. I can tell you that your voice is heard in Washington every day. I see how your efforts are moving us toward victory. But I also know that with just days remaining, the final vote is shaping up to be extremely close. Everything we've worked for is on the line, and your voice is needed now more than ever before. Raise your voice today: We must all speak out together to finish the job. In these final, crucial days, much more will be asked of us. Our resolve will be tested. During moments like this, I believe it's important to remember why we have worked so hard for so long. That's why I spoke to the country Monday at a gathering in Ohio and said it plainly: I'm here for Natoma. Natoma Canfield is like most of us: She works hard, and tries to do what's right. Years ago, she had battled back from cancer, so she always maintained health insurance in case she ever really needed it again. But because of her medical history, the insurance company kept raising her deductible and her premiums. Last year alone, Natoma paid over $10,000 in monthly premiums and co-pays, while her insurance company chipped in just $900. And then they hiked up her rates another 40%. She simply couldn't afford it -- she had to cancel her policy. That's when she wrote to me. I read her letter, and shared her story with insurance company CEOs as another reason why the system has to change. That was two weeks ago. Then, just last week, the unthinkable happened: Natoma collapsed, and was rushed to a hospital. It's leukemia -- the cancer has returned. Now she's in the hospital, worried sick not just about her condition, but how she'll financially survive. So why am I still in this fight? Simple. I'm here for Natoma. I'm here because of the countless others who have been denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions. I'm here for the small business owners forced to chose between health care and hiring. I'm here for the folks who are forced to watch helplessly as their premiums skyrocket with no reason or recourse. And I'm here for my mother. She died of cancer, and in the last six months of her life, I saw her on the phone in her hospital room arguing with insurance companies instead of focusing on getting well and spending time with her family. As I was finishing my remarks Monday, a woman in the crowd called out, "we need courage." She's right. The politicians in Washington need courage to face down the powerful interests who have held back progress for far too long. And all of us who share this cause need courage to speak up with persistence and clarity in these final days. I've always found that courage comes from remembering that we fight for something and someone beyond ourselves. It comes from our faith. And it comes from our commitment to those we love. So please take a moment to remember those who inspire you -- those who give you the strength to march on. There's very little time left, and still much to do. But I believe to my core in the power of Americans to change history when we put our mind to it. And if you'll stay with us in these final days, I know we can do it again: http://my.democrats.org/SpeakOutNow Thank you for making it possible, President Barack Obama

I just met with the President
pacquiao -- I just met with the President, where I was proud to fill him in on all the great work that you're doing to pass health reform. We spoke about the calls you've made, the letters you've written, and the terrific events you've organized on the ground. And he asked me to pass along a message to you: All of your hard work is paying off. The conversations he's been having with members of Congress in these days are far more productive because you've spoken up back home. The President is optimistic -- and thinks we're going to have a vote and pass reform very, very soon. But he also made it clear that he's not letting up for a moment, and urged that all of us do the same. We'll all need to step up to help the President pass reform. Can you take a moment right now to write to your member of Congress? http://my.democrats.org/ReformLetters I'm grateful for all you've done. And today, the President reminded me that he is as well. Thank you, Governor Tim Kaine

Video: Who is standing in the way of reform?
pacquiao -- Governor Kaine just recorded a quick video about the President's proposal for real health reform -- and the Republicans who are still standing in the way. I hope you'll watch it and learn how you can help. If enacted, the President's proposal would protect Americans from insurance-company abuses, guarantee affordable choices, and reduce the cost of care for businesses, our families, and the government. But while the need for reform is so obvious to the American people, powerful interests are lined up against it -- including insurance-company lobbyists currently plotting their strategy at the D.C. Ritz-Carlton and Republicans in Congress. And though the President's plan draws from the best ideas of both parties, Republicans continue to say no to reform. It's clear that Republicans think this is a winning issue for them -- GOP leaders from Michael Steele to Mitch McConnell have said that they will hold Democrats responsible for passing reform come November. Governor Kaine and I sure hope they do, because if they want to campaign on the belief that there is nothing wrong with the way insurance companies currently do business, then that's a fight we Democrats are ready -- and eager -- to have. Please watch the video today, and see what you can do to help in the final march for reform: http://my.democrats.org/KaineReform Thanks, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon Executive Director Democratic National Committee

Stand with the President
pacquiao -- On Wednesday, President Obama clearly laid out his final proposal for health reform and insisted that the American people deserve an up-or-down vote on these critical measures. He reiterated what Americans know all too well: We cannot delay any longer. The final march for reform begins now. Democratic supporters like you are committing to work with President Obama in the crucial weeks ahead to finally get reform passed. Can you add your name? The President has sought to incorporate the best ideas from Democrats and Republicans into his proposal and made a sincere effort at bipartisanship. But he's also 100% correct to challenge the Republican plan to leave life-and-death decisions to insurance companies -- not patients and doctors -- making consumers vulnerable to discrimination and arbitrary denial of coverage. Top Republicans from Michael Steele to Mitch McConnell have said that they will hold Democrats responsible for these reforms come November. I hope they do. If Republican leaders want to campaign on the belief that there is nothing wrong with the way insurance companies currently do business, then that's a fight Democrats are ready to have. I'm proud that Democrats are the party that will put Americans in charge of their own health care by giving those with insurance greater protection against insurance-company abuse, covering millions of uninsured Americans, and bringing sky-rocketing costs under control. But we need your help in the final march for reform to make this possible. Please sign up below to join in the campaign: http://my.democrats.org/FinalMarch Thanks, Governor Tim Kaine

Fear, socialism, and Blackwater
pacquiao -- Yesterday, reporters exposed a confidential Republican National Committee fundraising proposal, uncovering their plan to run "an aggressive campaign capitalizing on 'fear' of President Barack Obama and a promise to 'save the country from trending toward socialism.'" The memo even included grotesque caricatures of Democratic leaders -- including Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Cruella De Vil and President Obama as the Joker from Batman. This is the GOP we're now up against: Desperate, shameless, and willing to deceptively play on the worst emotions of people to tear down the President. We're ready to go toe-to-toe with the GOP. We'll prove that this kind of politics is no match for real grassroots strength and a commitment to making America better -- but we need your help. Please donate $5 or more today to help us fight back. This past week has brought a barrage of outrageous news about Republican tactics. Politico is reporting that the same memo outlining their "fear" strategy indicated that the RNC is cynically seeking to further weaken campaign finance reform to up their cash intake. And National Journal, a Capitol Hill newspaper, found that Republicans are launching robocalls around the country calling health reform "dangerous." These calls are designed to poison the debate around health care at a critical moment -- and are happening right as they hit up insurance company executives for huge contributions. And to top it off, they're holding an upcoming fundraiser at a compound run by the controversial military contractor formerly known as Blackwater. Enough is enough. We are ready to fight back with rapid-response teams, truth-telling ads, and the best grassroots organizing anywhere. But we need your help to make it happen. Can you donate $5 or more to help out? https://my.democrats.org/HelpFightBack Thanks, Jen Jen O'Malley Dillon Executive Director Democratic National Committee

Are you represented by a Highway Hypocrite?
pacquiao -- Are you represented in Congress by a Highway Hypocrite? Highway Hypocrites voted against the Recovery Act and spent the last year attacking it -- while praising it in letters requesting funds and press releases touting projects in their districts. We've identified 118 Republican senators and representatives guilty of highway hypocrisy. But we know there are more. Click here to find out if you're represented by a Highway Hypocrite -- and help us expose others. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says the Recovery Act created as many as 3.9 million jobs. But Highway Hypocrites already knew the Recovery Act was putting Americans to work across the country, they were simply attacking it to score political points. We've identified just over half of all Republicans in Congress as Highway Hypocrites -- but we're on a campaign to expose them all. So we've got one question for every Republican who voted against the Recovery Act: How much Recovery Act money have you requested for your district? Find out where your representatives stand on the Recovery Act now. If you are represented by a Republican who voted against the Recovery Act, use our easy online tool to write them a letter asking how much money they have requested. We're hoping to build pressure to make them come clean. After all, shouldn't Republican members of Congress be proud of fighting to create jobs in their districts?
