Democrats are counting on 4 more supporters from Carrollton to step up today

Donald Trump and the RNC have raised over $300 million this year. Carrollton can make the difference in beating him.

Midnight tonight marks our party's critical October deadline, Pat, less than one week before key elections in several important states. After running our latest numbers, I fear we're at risk of coming up short.

When we fall short of our fundraising goals, it's not just an issue for the DNC. Coming up short of our goals means that Democrats everywhere -- including our eventual presidential nominee -- could lack the infrastructure they'll need to take on Trump and the GOP's machine. That is not an option our country can afford.

According to our calculations, if just 4 more donors from Carrollton donate before midnight we'll be able to meet this month's fundraising goal and stay on track to elect Democrats nationwide.

In many ways, this year's Democratic presidential primary is similar to our 2008 election, Pat.

Our primary was competitive, expensive, and no one knew which candidate would win. But there was always one thing we knew for certain: Whoever won the nomination was going to need a strong Democratic Party to win back the White House -- and that could not be any truer right now.

That's why in May, I teamed up with the DNC to launch a bold new effort: The Democratic Unity Fund. The idea behind the fund is that no matter who becomes our party's standard bearer, she or he, plus our entire slate of Democrats up and down the ticket, will have a powerful, united, and well-prepared DNC ready to lift them to victory.

Since then, 37,243 Democrats have answered our call. This initial response has been strong, but I'll be honest: Creating and maintaining a strong Democratic Party is a never-ending job, and it's going to take consistent support from dedicated Democrats like you if we want to win in 2020.

So, I'm asking you once again, Pat: Will you donate $3 to the Democratic Unity Fund today to help ensure that our eventual nominee -- and candidates up and down the ballot -- have the party resources to win in 2020?

Every dollar given to the Democratic Unity Fund goes directly toward funding the programs that Democrats will need to win in 2020. This includes hiring and training field organizers in battleground states across the country, investing in technology and cybersecurity measures, and updating our party's voter file to ensure that every candidate -- whether they're running for local office or the Oval Office -- has the data they need to reach voters.

I know November 3, 2020 feels far away now, but it's not. Whether or not the DNC is able to fund these programs will directly affect our chances of winning in 2020. The time to act is now, Pat.

re: accountability

I am asking you to support our party before tonight's fundraising deadline.

I have the privilege of serving on the House Oversight Committee, Pat, and I don't take lightly the responsibility that comes with my position. Right now, the committee is in the midst of one of the gravest duties we've ever been tasked with: Conducting the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump, who, along with his administration, has displayed a blatant disregard for ethics and the law, debased our democracy, and trampled over the Constitution.

Part of the reason we're able to properly hold Trump accountable for his abuse of power is that Democrats took back the House in 2018. Last year, my campaign and I ousted a 30-year Republican incumbent in Orange County, a place long considered a GOP stronghold. Early investments from strong supporters like you were instrumental to our victories in 2018, and we don't have a second to delay our work to defeat Trump and the GOP in 2020. Reaching our October goal is the first step to getting there, so I have to ask:

Will you chip in $3 today to support Democrats before tonight's deadline? We need to elect leaders who respect the rule of law and strive to uphold our constitution.

The work that my Democratic colleagues in the House and I are able to do to help the American people is the direct result of grassroots support. I hope I can count on you to invest in our party before the DNC's critical deadline tonight, Pat.

We're living through a turbulent time as a nation, and the only way we'll return to normalcy is by electing more Democrats to every level of government and allowing them to carry out their work. I'm asking

Just last week, Republican members of Congress stormed a secure impeachment hearing many of them were already invited to, disrupting the process for a political stunt.

The GOP knows the facts aren't on their side. That's why they've resorted to political stunts instead of coming face to face with the fundamental question: Is it acceptable for a president to abuse his power to pressure foreign leaders into helping him win elections? (No.)

You can bet your bottom dollar that House Democrats will stay focused on our duty to the Constitution and the American people. We will continue fighting for legislation to prevent foreign interference in future elections, keep health care costs affordable, and promote a healthy democracy. But if we want that legislation to see the light of day, it is imperative we take back the Senate and the White House in 2020. So, I'm asking:

Will you donate $3 before tonight's end-of-month deadline to help hold the House, take back the Senate, and put a Democrat in the White House next year?

Obama, tomorrow's deadline, and the Democratic Unity Fund

Unfortunately, we're still a bit short of this month's goal for the Democratic Unity Fund.

I need you to see this, Pat: Our critical October deadline is just a day away, and the clock is ticking fast.

Unfortunately, we're still a bit short of this month's goal for the Democratic Unity Fund. Missing our target for this fund would be a big deal, Pat. That's because our eventual nominee for president and Democrats down the ticket will rely heavily on the vital party infrastructure this fund helps build.

Democratic Unity Fund

Simply put, Democrats nationwide can't win without it. The Democratic Unity Fund, launched in May with the help of President Obama, is a promise that whoever becomes our party's nominee will inherit a strong, well-resourced, and well-prepared DNC that's ready to hit the ground running in the general election. In fact, President Obama emailed you just last week to reiterate the importance of the fund.

If our records are correct, you have yet to make a gift to the Democratic Unity Fund. I know you care deeply about this election, so I hope you'll join the more than 46,000 Democrats on this team who've pitched in to support our eventual nominee and candidates in every ZIP code.

Tomorrow at midnight, our party will close the books on October fundraising. What we've raised by then will dictate whether we can continue to fully fund critical 2020 programs or whether we have to make some tough cuts to our budget and general election plan. We can't afford to miss this goal, Pat, which is why I have to ask:
